SYNOPSIS
Two young characters go to the big city to make their fortunes. They leave their loved ones behind. OOPS they each fall in love with a new person in the city. The parents of the characters are not happy with this situation. The parents have already planned a future for the characters. There are robbers and kidnappers, escapes, mistaken identities, festive celebrations, the big city is Oaxaca. So festival!!! Of course, it is Shakespeare so all ends well.

Several of the actors will play more than one role. Gender is an issue we will discuss after casting the show.

[VALENTINE] One of the travelling characters, adventurous, fun, 16-25 leaves Verona first and falls in love with DUKE’S child

[OUTLAWS] with VALENTINE

[SPEED] clownish servant to VALENTINE

[DUKE] Parent to Silvia, gracious, strong, many long monologues, from Oaxaca

[SILVIA] DUKE’S daughter, beloved of VALENTINE, from Oaxaca

[EGLAMOUR] agent for SYLVIA in her escape

[THURIO] engaged to SILVIA, foolish rival to VALENTINE, good at physical slapstick, from Oaxaca

[PROTEUS] One of the travelling characters, adventurous, fun, 16-25 follows VALENTINE and gets into
many scrapes

[LAUNCE] clownish servant to PROTEUS

[JULIA] beloved of PROTEUS

[LUCETTA] servant to JULIA

[ANTONIO] parent to PROTEUS, decides to send PROTEUS to Oaxaca to follow VALENTINE, a good 
parent

[PANTHINO] servant to ANTONIO

[HOST] where JULIA resides in Oaxaca
